Of any electrical or telecommunications based installation, stainless steel enclosures are a most important part of the system. Without which, our electrics or broadband access would go to pot. If you travel by train, and are familiar with disruptions due to cable theft, the system grinds to a halt. Without enclosures, rain and rats can disrupt the system and electricians would be electrocuted on the job.
